RRB ALP Salary 2026 — Pay Scale, In-Hand & Running Allowance

ALP is placed at Pay Level 2 under 7th Pay Commission:

• Calculated on actual distance covered while operating locomotives
• Approximately ₹530–₹560 per 100 km run (revised periodically)
• Monthly average run: 3,000–5,000 km for active duty ALP
• Running allowance is NOT counted for HRA, TA, but IS considered for pension
• Decreases after retirement age (light duty/ground duties)

• ALP (Level 2, ₹19,900) → Loco Pilot Goods (Level 5, ₹29,200) after passing GDCE
• Loco Pilot Goods → Loco Pilot Mail/Express (Level 6, ₹35,400)
• Loco Pilot Mail/Express → Loco Pilot Passenger (Level 6, ₹35,400)
• Loco Pilot Passenger → Senior Loco Pilot / Power Controller (Level 7, ₹44,900)
• Further: Loco Inspector / Divisional Loco Foreman (Gazetted Officer level)
• Total career span: 30–35 years with steady progression

• Outstation Allowance: For duties performed away from home station
